Privacy Policy
Legacy Intelligence LLC (“LEGACY,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the LEGACY Intelligence application and legacyintelhq.com. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use our app, website, and related services.
1. Information We May Collect
- Account and contact information, such as your name, email address, account identifiers, and profile information.
- Fishing and trip information you enter or generate, including target species, fishing method, catches, fish measurements, lure or bait, presentation, water-column observations, structure, notes, trip plans, and trip results.
- Location information. When you use location-enabled trip features and grant permission, LEGACY may collect precise device location associated with trips and catches, including coordinates and related time information.
- Environmental and contextual information associated with fishing activity, which may include date and time, tide, wind, weather, water conditions, and other observations.
- Technical and usage information reasonably necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide and operate LEGACY's fishing-intelligence features.
- Associate catches, observations, conditions, and locations with a trip so the app can help you identify patterns from your own fishing experience.
- Generate trip plans, summaries, lessons, comparisons, recommendations, and other personalized fishing intelligence.
- Save and restore trips and app settings, maintain account functionality, provide support, and troubleshoot errors.
- Protect the service against misuse, fraud, security threats, and technical failures.
- Improve LEGACY's features, reliability, and user experience.
3. Location and GPS Data
Location is central to certain LEGACY trip and catch features. LEGACY should request device location only when a location-enabled feature requires it. A user may deny device permission, although some trip-recording or catch-location features may then be unavailable or less accurate.
Precise fishing locations can be sensitive. LEGACY does not claim ownership of a user's fishing spots merely because location information is recorded. Location information should not be sold or disclosed for advertising or for creating a public hotspot database.
4. Sharing and Service Providers
LEGACY may use service providers to host, process, secure, or support the service. Information may be processed by those providers only as reasonably necessary to perform services for LEGACY and subject to applicable contractual and legal obligations.
We may also disclose information when required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request; to protect rights, safety, security, or property; or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or part of the business, subject to applicable law.
5. Sale and Advertising
LEGACY does not intend to sell precise fishing-location data or use precise device location for targeted advertising. If LEGACY's practices materially change, this Privacy Policy and any required in-app disclosures should be updated before the new practice begins.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain legitimate business records, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Users should be provided a practical method to request deletion of their account and associated personal data, subject to information we are legally permitted or required to retain.
Privacy and deletion requests may be sent to info@legacyintelhq.com.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we handle. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
8. User Choices
- Device location permissions can be controlled through the device operating-system settings.
- Users may choose what optional observations or fishing information they enter, subject to fields required for a particular feature.
- Users may contact LEGACY to ask about access, correction, or deletion of personal information, subject to applicable law.
9. Children's Privacy
LEGACY is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without authorization required by law. If we learn that such information was collected improperly, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10. Privacy Rights
Depending on where a user lives and applicable law, the user may have rights concerning access, correction, deletion, portability, or certain processing of personal data. LEGACY will evaluate verified requests under the law that applies to the request.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as LEGACY changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes should be reflected in the public policy and, where required, communicated through the app or another appropriate method.
